Preparing for Snow

No denying it, winter is coming. The bird bath has turned in to a tiny bird skating rink, nearly all the leaves are off the trees, and it gets cold in the evening very quickly.

Time to get ready for the inevitable ... snow! We took the time today to get the Christmas lights up, as most previous years have found us wading through snow drifts and fumbling through 2 layers of mittens to quickly throw the lights on the trees in the front yard.

The boys wanted to help ...

But their lack of opposable thumbs and poor balance on a ladder meant that they weren't very useful. Instead, they snacked on some nice raw moose bones while the humans fought with tangled lights and extension cords.

I still can't used to the fact that you are getting cold and I am getting hot! ;-)

It's getting cold here to. Alot of the trees are bare. The mittens came out weeks ago.
Have a good week.
