Gio Update - Sunday Evening

I am so overwhelmed by all the support and well-wishes that Gio and I have received over the past few days. Thank you everyone for your thoughts, stories, and words of kindness. They mean so much to me, and I'm passing every one of them on to Gio.

I just got home from our Sunday evening visit. I would like to think that he is looking up a little bit. I hope I am not deluding myself. But he was more responsive than this morning at least. This morning he was very depressed looking, tonight wasn't so bad. He seems comfortable, cuddled up for a nice rest with me on the floor of the waiting room. He seems to be more drool-y than puke-y now, a better sign as it probably means that his stomach is still upset but he is at least able to hold it down. At one point we were walking through the waiting room and there was a cookie on the floor. He took a lunge for it, and would have got to it had he not been so doped up on drugs. So at least it appears as if his appetite is coming back.

He still looks really pathetic, and definitely is far from "healthy", but I'd like to think he is better than he was this morning. Maybe, bit by bit, he will continue to improve. I sure hope so anyways!

Thanks again for all the support. It means the world to me and Gio, and I truly believe that the power of positive thoughts is strong and amazing in what it can accomplish. I'm remaining hopeful that we can all pull him through this.

We really have our paws crossed for Gio. He is still a youngster and has many more years to go. He sounds like a grrrreat sheltie and the collies would love meeting him if the great dane smiled on us all.

You are in our thoughts and prayers. We had to let Opy and Buster know and get the word out. While we like writing about stuff, we know we are a bit quirky and our readership is not large as a lot of blogs.

We hope Gio is better and back home soon. We think that only other Pet Moms and Dads can understand the bond many of feel with our furry children. Heaven knows most of my siblings can't figure out the hold the collies have on their Dog Dad.

The Corgi Girls told us about Gio and we will be checking in every day. We have our paws crossed and Mum has her prayer book out and her heart out - she knows how difficult this can be. (Cooper went through a puking stage which cost a fortune but he got Mum to forget about that by throwing his back out on a weekend so we had to go the emergency vet which was breathtaking when it came to cost, but I digress) If there is anything we can do besides prayer and good thoughts, you need only ask. We may be short dogs but we have big hearts!

Love Dozer, Dottie and Cooper

(No need to respond, we know you are busy!)

I know you must be beside yourself with worry for Gio. Be sure to take care of yourself too. You need to be strong to look after him while he's recuperating. At least he's a young guy and will have the strength to fight that nasty pancreatitis. We'll be thinking positive thoughts for all of you.
